The day is finally here!
Five years ago, I purchased a piece of property and set into motion my own new home project and all the hurdles you typically come up against. Being in the industry, it was nothing that my retired contractor dad, my machine operator husband and I, an architectural designer, couldn’t handle, but I got to see it for the first time from my clients perspective.
The results are not what I expected…
I mean, we’re all in the industry for crying out loud! Things should have been smooth sailing, right? Wrong. We were ghosted, double charged, lied to, dicked around (can we say that on a blog?), and so much more.
Did we catch it, yes. But homeowners wouldn’t have. So it got me thinking…
How are homeowners doing this alone!?
Long story short: this season of loneliness, professionals that leave you hanging (or worse), and questioning EVERYTHING was what led me to start Homeowner HQ.
I began a little IG account and had followers help narrow down our decisions realizing, at the heart of it all, the value is in community. Did we have a team of trusted professionals? Mostly, but those we didn’t have were hard to find without proper research and referrals. Did we have the skills to make those decisions? Absolutely! But being professionals ourselves didn’t prepare us for the question-overload and decision-fatigue. We didn’t have support. The “I’m going through it too and it’s tough” support. A shoulder to lean on when times get tough, tiring, and just downright frustrating.
So I set out to create a safe space to bring homeowners together, with industry professionals as the facilitators, to support and educate you through your home project. To connect with like-minded homeowners, hire the right professionals, and have real conversations about what it REALLY looks like to take on a new home or renovation project of any size.

→ We know you're feeling burned and overwhelmed, even before starting your project, so we designed a space that is void of all ads and social media so you can properly engage in real, meaningful conversations that fills you back up.
→ We know it's important for you to understand various trade roles and how they play a part in your project, so we're bringing you even closer to the professionals who can help you and your project succeed.
→ We know you don't have the capacity to be a part of another thing that requires A LOT from you, and only offers fluffy, non-strategic support in return…so we built the opposite of that.
The bottom line: The data, experience and feedback shows – you can go further, faster, and do better when you're surrounded by a supportive community of homeowners and professionals who will tell you like it is (and it’s nothing like what you see on HGTV and Instagram - that sh!t is staged, am I right?!)
Let’s state the obvious here - there is no space out there like this (and forum’s, Google, and Instagram “influencers” just don’t cut it). We’re pioneering along with you and couldn’t be more excited! 🤩
