The Benefits of Building in Community

I know firsthand how exciting it is to undergo a new home or renovation project. But it’s also hard, overwhelming, exhausting, stressful, tiring, frustrating…

What a lot of homeowners don’t realize is that, while you’re surrounded by a team of incredible trades and professionals, it can also be extremely isolating.

Like you’re a part of a team but often feel left out, frustrated handling decisions that you might not fully understand, feel like you’re not given enough options or choices or that the choices are being made for you, and hesitate asking questions because you worry how they might come across.

Going at it alone isn’t the answer. That’s a recipe for getting stuck, stressed, and overwhelmed.

Whether it’s homeowners who are new to this process or those who have done it before, I hear the same sentiment: “I didn’t know what I didn’t know” and “I don’t have a lot of friends who get what I'm going through, and times are different from those who do.”

Which is exactly why Homeowner HQ was created: to ensure that you don’t have to experience the same struggles and challenges we, and others, faced.

I remember those feelings so strongly when I started working with homeowners in 2006 and even more so when I started my own new home project.

When I expanded my circle of us and our team, and into community, things fell into place with ease. Why?

  1. Osmosis. Studies back this up. Putting yourself in an environment that celebrates milestones and activates excitement, positivity, and support.

  2. Shared learning. Some days you’ll have a string of questions, other days you’ll join the chat and see that things you never would have thought to ask have been answered. These experiences are gravely different from being on your own to being in community.

  3. Camaraderie. They opened doors for me, and me for them. Those moments where you’ve dwindled down your decision only to be stuck with 2 or 3 and decision-fatigue. Let them help you and you help them. Celebrate each others milestones and wins, and support each other through difficult times. You cannot get that anywhere else.

  4. The windows and mirrors affect. Homeowners need to see themselves reflected and have windows to look through for new perspectives. We’re always looking for differences and similarities.

I’m not talking about social media or TV shows. That’s a false reality, not to mention toxic. I’m talking about homeowners just like you, doing exactly what you’re doing - in the real world. What’s better than that?

You can’t get this working 1:1 with me or with any of your trades.

This is exactly what we see in Homeowner HQ: understanding. support. collaboration. friendship. accountability. referrals. hiring each other’s trades. and so. much. more.

Our HQ works as integration of the two by combining the energy of a group container with the intensity of a 1:1 session.

When you look around, are you stacking the deck in your favour with like-minded homeowners who want you to succeed in your home project, a team of professionals that can help you understand things before taking them to your team, and systems and programs to enjoy the journey and the destination in creating a home with more impact on your and your family?

If you’d like to open a door with just that ^^, now’s the time to join us.

See you in there,

Chelsey
